Curious about how social media shapes today’s news? Wonder what it’s like to study journalism in an era of algorithms, influencers, and 24/7 information flow? Grab a cup of coffee (or tea!) and join us for an informal conversation with Professor Alfred Hermida, whose research and teaching explore the intersection of journalism, emerging technologies like AI, and digital culture.

This relaxed, drop-in chat is a chance to:

  • Ask questions about the future of news and AI
  • Learn about research opportunities and courses related to journalism and social platforms
  • Hear how a journalist would navigate viral content, misinformation, and emerging technologies
  • Connect with fellow students who share an interest in media and communication

Whether you’re thinking about a career in media, curious about digital storytelling, or just want to chat with a professor outside the classroom, you’re welcome to stop by!

Coffee (and tea) and light snacks will be provided.
